Create A Festive Edible Fruit Wreath To Ring In The New Year

New Year’s Eve is practically knocking on the door, and you know what that means: time to deck the halls (and your table) with something seriously fun and festive!

Ring in the holidays with a beautiful (and delicious!) edible fruit wreath. Bursting with festive shades of red and green from apples, grapes, strawberries, and raspberries, this fruit wreath is perfect for a Christmas or New Year’s celebration.

This show-stopping DIY fruit wreath is as easy as it is gorgeous. Trust me when I say anyone can do it!

Ingredients to Make an Edible Fruit Wreath

  • 2-3 large Granny Smith apples, cored and thinly sliced.
  • 3 Tablespoons Mrs. Wages Fresh Fruit Preserver
  • 1/2 gallon water
  • 1 bunch green grapes
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, halved
  • 1 pint fresh raspberries
  • 1 large Braeburn apple (to garnish)
  • Fresh rosemary (to garnish)

How to Arrange a Fruit Wreath

To prevent browning and preserve the color and flavor of your Granny Smith apples, core and thinly slice them before soaking them in 3 tablespoons of Mrs. Wages fresh fruit preserver and ½ gallon of water. (If you don’t have fresh fruit preserver, a little lemon juice and water will do the trick.)

Soak the apples for about 2-4 minutes, then gently pat them dry before building the base of your festive fruit tray.

Grab a round charcuterie board or serving platter and arrange the apple slices in a circle, slightly overlapping the slices as you go. This will be the base of your edible fruit wreath.

Next, wash and remove the stems from the grapes. Gently pile them on top of the apple slices, filling in any gaps.

Wash and halve one pint of strawberries and scatter them evenly around your edible fruit wreath. Then repeat the process with one pint of raspberries, adding them around your fruit platter for an extra pop of color and sweetness.

Once the base of your wreath is complete and your charcuterie board is full, it’s time to add some festive garnishes!

Using a mandolin slicer, make thin apple rounds. I used a Braeburn apple to add some variety to my fruit wreath, but any kind of apple will work.

Next, using a small star-shaped cookie cutter, cut star shapes from the apple rounds and dip them in the fruit preserver mixture. Then pat dry, and arrange them around the wreath for an extra festive touch.

Finish your edible fruit wreath with a few sprigs of fresh rosemary sprigs for a fragrant accent and serve alongside some creamy fruit dip for the perfect holiday appetizer or dessert.

Can You Make this Fruith Wreath in Advance?

Yes, you can absolutely prepare your edible holiday fruit wreath the night before!

Prepare your fruit and build the charcuterie board following the instructions noted above. Cover your wreath tightly with plastic wrap and keep refrigerated.

Before serving make the apple star cut-outs and garnish with fresh rosemary. Then serve and enjoy!
