Most years, we travel to see family for the holidays.
Which means Christmas morning often looks a little like that scene from Home Alone when Kevin’s family realizes they’ve overslept.

This recipe makes 16 breakfast crescent rolls, but it’s easy to double or even triple when you’ve got a full house and everyone wandering into the kitchen hungry.

Ingredients for Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls
Here’s everything you need to make your own breakfast sausage crescent rolls
Crescent Rolls: One 8-count can of refrigerated crescent roll dough forms the buttery, flaky base for these sausage rolls.
Breakfast Sausage Links: Fully pre-cooked, heat-and-serve sausage links make this recipe quick and easy.
Unsalted Butter: Melted butter is brushed on top before baking to help the rolls turn golden and add extra flavor.
Everything Bagel Seasoning: Adds the perfect savory finish. This is optional but highly recommended.
Maple Syrup (for dipping): Perfect for dipping if you like a sweet and savory combo.

How to Make Holiday Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls
Step 1: Cook Your Sausages
First, preheat your oven to 375℉ and lightly spray two baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray.
Then, while your oven warms up, prepare the sausage links.
I used Jimmy Dean heat ‘n serve precooked original-flavored sausage links, but any brand will work.

Heat the sausages according to the directions on the package.
Once they are hot, blot off any excess grease, and let the sausage links cool for a few minutes before wrapping them in the crescent roll dough.
Step 2: Wrap the Sausages in Crescent Rolls
Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles, then cut each triangle in half lengthwise so you end up with 16 pieces of dough.

Place one fully cooked sausage link on the wide end of each piece and roll the dough around the sausage until it’s fully wrapped. Repeat until all 16 sausage links are wrapped.
Use a pastry brush to lightly brush the tops with melted butter, then sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
Step 3: Bake Your Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls
Bake the breakfast sausage crescent rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
Let them cool for 3-5 minutes on the pan, and then plate and serve while warm.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
I highly suggest dipping them in maple syrup.
The savory and sweet combination takes these holiday breakfast sausage crescent rolls over the top!

But if you prefer to skip the syrup, they’re just as delicious without it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I store leftover breakfast sausage crescent rolls?
A: Let the rolls cool completely, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Q: Can I freeze breakfast sausage crescent rolls?
Yes. Once cooled, place them in a freezer-safe container or bag and freeze for up to 1 month. When you’re ready to use them, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
Q: What’s the best way to reheat them?
A: For the best texture, reheat the rolls in a 350°F oven until warmed through and the pastry is crispy again. An air fryer also works great and heats them up faster while keeping them nice and crisp.
Q: Can I use a different type of sausage?
A: Absolutely. Mild, spicy, turkey, or chicken breakfast sausage all work well. Just make sure the sausage is fully cooked before wrapping it in the crescent dough.

Hi, Jen
Would you do anything differently if using regular sausage links instead of the heat ‘n serve precooked sausage links? Not sure if they would get dried out. We’ve never had the heat ‘n serve ones.
Hi Mary, I’ve never made this recipe with anythign other than the heat n’ serve links, but I don’t think I would do anything differently. If you try it, please let me know how it turns out! In the meantime, I’ll have to try it as well so I can update my recipe. Thanks for the great question!
I was wondering if you think using a spoonful of cooked crumbled breakfast sausage could work instead of the links?
Hi Lorie, I think you could absolutley try! I haven’t done it myself, but I have seen different recipes that use cooked, crumbled breakfast sausage instead. If you try it, I’d love to hear how it turns out!
Hi Jen!
These look delicious, but is there any way to start them the night before? I worry about them either being soggy or the dough not rising properly.
Thanks so much!
Hi Sally,
I used store-bought crescent rolls in the tube, so there is not need for them to rise. If you’d like, you can brown the sausages in advance to save some time. I’ve only ever made them the day of since it’s such a quick recipe to pull-together, but I’d think could certainly prep them the night before. Just make sure to cover your pan with plastic wrap to prevent the dough from drying out.
I hope that helps!
I can’t wait to try these Jen! They look delicious. You had me at crescent rolls!
Thank you so much, Kim. I can’t wait to hear what you think! Enjoy!
Jen these look delish! Adding them to our Christmas morning rotation!!!
Thank you, Stacy. I hope you enjoy them!
