Week in Rewind Volume 113

Happy Sunday, friend!

I wish I could say I had a super productive week… but after getting knocked out by some nasty sick germs over Thanksgiving weekend, I spent most of the past few days curled up in bed with hot honey tea and Christmas movies.

Because of that, I wasn’t able to get any new posts finished, but honestly, lying low was probably exactly what I needed.

Since I don’t have anything new to share this week, I pulled together some holiday reader favorites along with a few fun ideas from friends that I think you’ll love.

So grab something warm and cozy, and let’s catch up with the latest week in rewind.

Tidbits from Home

Peyton had her wisdom teeth out right before Thanksgiving, so our holiday looked a little different this year. We stayed home, stayed cozy, and had a full pajama day. No photos per Peyton’s request because the swelling and bruising were rough, but honestly, it was one of my favorite Thanksgivings in recent memory.

Kirk made an amazing meal, and we all sat at the table together, which feels rare these days with our busy schedules, and we just laughed and talked.

The day after Thanksgiving, we bundled up and went to get our annual family Christmas tree from a local tree farm. It was freezing, but it was worth braving the cold for what might be our last tree-cutting trip as a family of four if Peyton isn’t able to come home next year for Thanksgiving break.

We have a tradition of naming our tree, and this year, since we were on the letter I, we chose Ingrid. She is beautiful.

The next morning, we woke up to our first snow of the season with almost four inches. Most of it melted quickly, but it was so pretty while it lasted.

And this weekend, Peyton had Winter Ball. She was invited by friends again this year, and the dance was held at a local country club. We squeezed in dress shopping right before the sick germs took me down, and she looked absolutely gorgeous.

It feels like ’tis the season for an extra busy calendar, doesn’t it? Next week we have Harper’s band concert and Kirk’s social studies department holiday party, along with a handful of other festive things before Christmas.

But it’s my favorite time of year, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I snagged the cutest plaid candle warmer this week. Mine sold out fast, but I found a similar one here. Perfect if you love traditional holiday decor.

I got this for Christmas last year, and it has become my favorite way to listen to holiday music. If you love a little nostalgia with your Christmas tunes, you’ll see why.

This week I shared my recipe for festive cranberry and feta Christmas pinwheels over on Facebook, and it went viral… and for good reason!

With cream cheese, dried cranberries, crumbled feta, and a hint of green onion all wrapped up in soft spinach tortillas, they’re the perfect Christmas appetizer. Easy, colorful, and so delicious for holiday parties or snacking while you decorate.

Cocktail glasses filled with sparkling white sangria with cranberries, orange and lime slices, bits of apple, and garnished with a sprig of fresh rosemary

And since we’re talking festive food and drinks, my winter white sangria is another favorite this time of year. It’s light, refreshing, and pairs perfectly with any holiday meal. I love that you can make it ahead and let the flavors mingle, which makes it great for Christmas dinner, any cozy get-together.

And if you missed it, I shared a sponsored Instagram reel with La Terra Fina and their delicious quiches. They’re one of my go-to quick and easy solutions for holiday breakfasts or brunch.

Thank you for continuing to like, comment, and engage with my content. Your support truly means so much and helps me keep this little business of mine going.

Your Thanksgiving definitely sounded cozy and exactly what it was supposed to be. Time together is hard in our fast paced days. Peyton looked beautiful and so glad she got to go. I’ll be praying you are feeling 100% and ready to take on the new week. Thanks for sharing my southern candy! 💚
