Week in Rewind Volume 115
Happy Sunday, friend!
And happy New Year! It’s been unusually quiet around here the last couple of weeks, and honestly, it’s been exactly what we all needed. But after lots of lounging, movies, and two weeks of having no clue what day it is, I think we’re all starting to look forward to getting back into a routine.
The holiday hangover is real, isn’t it?! And I’ll admit it… I’m also ready to have my office (aka our house) back to myself.
While I took a little break over the holidays from writing new posts, I did share a roundup with all of the top posts from last year, and I’m also sharing some cozy winter inspiration and a few delicious recipes from a few of my friends.
So grab something warm and cozy, get comfy, and let’s catch up on the latest week in rewind.

Tidbits from Home
We enjoyed another low-key Christmas this year with our little family of four. Christmas Eve was a pizza and pajama movie night, followed by a cozy Christmas Day at home with a big brunch and a nice dinner, including some of our family favorites.

We all agreed it was a total come-as-you-are kind of Christmas, which eventually lasted the entire break. Even though I took plenty of photos, I didn’t manage to get a single one of all four of us together. No one was ever “camera ready” at the same time, and apparently, that’s just how this year went.

A few days after Christmas, we headed to my sister’s house to spend the day with her family and my parents. There was lots of good food, plenty of cousin time, and we played a few fun games. I even helped my dad rebuild his baseball trading card website.

And yes, once again, I forgot to get any nice big group photos. Are you sensing a theme with my lack of pictures this year?
To wrap up the break, Harper and I finally watched the second installment of Wicked, and on New Year’s Eve, Kirk and I stuck with one of our favorite traditions and ordered takeout from our favorite Chinese restaurant. This year marked our 20th year of Chinese takeout, and it still feels like the perfect way to ring in the new year.

Even though I took most of the last two weeks off, I did share a roundup of the most-loved posts of 2025.

These are the ones you loved the most, with a mix of newer posts like this year’s traditional Christmas home tour, along with recipes that seem to be favorites year after year, like my slow-cooker Irish beef stew and one of my personal favorites, creamy broccoli salad.
This weekend, I also started slowly packing away my Christmas decor, which always brings a mix of emotions for me.
There’s relief in having it done and enjoying a clean, fresh start, but there’s also a little sadness knowing another holiday season is officially over.

If you’re looking for ways to keep your home feeling warm and cozy throughout the winter, while holding onto a bit of that holiday magic just a little longer, you can revisit this post with tips for creating a cozy winter home.
