Cheers To The New Year
The start of the new year seems like a good time to pause and reflect on all my blessings. And, while 2022 was not without its share of challenges, the good days far outweighed the bad.
Before I dive into the top posts from the past year, I thought it would be fun to take a quick look back on some of this year’s highlights.
MWLS Higlights From 2022
In January, I finished my first project of the year, a front porch refresh in partnership with The Home Depot. The Home Depot is just one of the brands I had the opportunity to work with in 2022.
Others include Wayfair, Mrs. Wages, Pampered Chef, and Fareway Grocery, to name a few. And many of these partnerships wouldn’t be possible without your support!
The income I earn from sponsored posts both here and on my Instagram page helps to “keep the lights on” at MWLS and make it possible for me to share more free content with you all year long.
In March, I transitioned from a weekly recap email to a new blog series, the week in rewind. It’s quickly become one of my favorite posts to share, and it seems to be a favorite for many of you too.
I love to share more about our family and life beyond the blog. And I enjoy highlighting posts from my fellow blogging friends (many of whom have also become like family to me).
In June, the blog turned two, and I turned 39. This blogging journey has brought me so many unexpected blessings, including one of the biggest surprises of 2022, my first magazine feature in the winter issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine.
If this year’s an indication of good things to come, I can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store.
The Year In Review: The Top Ten Posts of 2022
Last year’s top ten posts included a mix of home decor, recipes, and some of my all-time favorite DIYs.
So which posts made the cut this year? Here’s a look at the year in review and the top ten posts of 2022 chosen by you!
Patriotic Summer Home Tour
Number ten on the countdown of the top posts from 2022 is my patriotic summer home tour.
I don’t usually decorate much for the 4th of July. This year, however, I enjoyed creating an effortless look for the season with simple red, white, and blue decor, like some inexpensive American flags and a DIY door basket filled with summer annuals.
Home tours are some of my favorite posts to share with you here on MWLS, so I’m glad this summer tour was one of your favorites as well.
Cozy Winter Wonderland Tablescape
Number nine on the countdown is the first of two tablescapes to crack the list of top posts for the year.
This cozy winter wonderland tablescape is just one of many I created in 2022 as part of my monthly supper club blog series.
And the good news is that my supper club friends and I will be back this year! We’ll share more beautiful themed tables, tips for hosting parties, and menus filled with simple and delicious recipes.
Join us on the last Thursday and Saturday of each month for all the fun.
Winter Hurricane Candle Holder with Epsom Salt
Coming in at number eight is this winter hurricane candle holder with Epsom salt.
Incredibly easy to make, it would make the perfect addition to your winter home decor.
DIY Gingerbread Snowglobe Centerpiece
Are you surprised at number seven? This DIY gingerbread snowglobe centerpiece is one of my all-time favorite holiday DIYs. I’m thrilled you all loved it as much as I did.
I’m already dreaming of how to use these adorable houses in my holiday decor again next year. And you can bet I’ll be hitting the thrift stores on the hunt for more houses to add to my gingerbread village.
Cast Iron Triple Berry Crisp
Next on the countdown of top posts from 2022 is number six, this recipe for cast iron triple berry crisp.
The perfect way to use fresh summer berries; believe me when I say it tastes even better than it looks. Top with a scoop of melty vanilla bean ice cream to send your tastebuds straight to flavor heaven. Yuuuuummmm!
Old World Red and White Holiday Home Tour
We’re halfway through the countdown, and number five on the list of top posts of the year is my red and white holiday home tour.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and my annual holiday home tour is one of the posts I most look forward to sharing.
I’m glad all of the cozy holiday decorations bring you as much joy as they do me.
Whimsical Gingerbread Holiday Tablescape
Coming in at number four is my gingerbread holiday tablescape. This is quite possibly one of my favorite tablescapes. Ever.
I don’t know how I’m going to top this next Christmas, but I’ll sure try!
Hearty Crockpot Chicken Enchilada Soup
The next recipe to make the list, and number three on the countdown of top ten posts is my hearty crockpot chicken enchilada soup.
Chocked full of healthy veggies and chunks of chicken, it’s the perfect meal to warm up on a cold day.
No-Bake Lemon Berry Cheesecake Cups
Any dessert that doesn’t require baking is a winner in my book. And apparently, you all agree! Coming in at number two on the list of top posts from 2022 is my recipe for no-bake lemon berry cheesecake cups.
This simple dessert would be perfect for baby showers, bridal showers, Easter brunch, or a Mother’s Day tea!
One Pan Skillet Lasagna
And last but not least, the top post of 2022 is this one pan skillet lasagna.
This recipe is a family favorite and a regular in the dinnertime rotation. Packed with all of the flavors of the classic Italian dish, it’s perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
