Red White and Blue Summer Table
The 4th of July is just a few days away, so today I’m sharing some tips for styling a simple red white and blue summer table. This festive table is easy to style and a great way to help make the holiday feel special for your family and friends.
How To Style A Tablescape
I love styling my table for different seasons, so I always have a collection of basic entertaining pieces on hand. White plates, neutral-colored napkins, and flatware are perfect examples of staple pieces that make decorating for any holiday a breeze!
In addition to using these kinds of pieces, styling a tablescape is all about creating layers. For my table, I started with a simple white table cloth and then layered chambray napkins, ticking stripe napkins, and rattan chargers on top. My chargers are a favorite find from Antique Farmhouse. They aren’t currently available, but I did find some similar ones [HERE]. To complete the layered look, I added my white dishes and flatware.
Creating A Centerpiece
For the centerpiece, I kept things simple and classic. I started with a vintage breadboard that I found at a local flea market. Then I added an old glass jug filled with fresh hydrangeas and some inexpensive flags. To add a bit more color, I used cake plates to serve sliced watermelon, and I used vintage berry baskets to display seasonal fruit like strawberries, blueberries, and cherries. I love how the fruit serves a dual purpose and adds an edible element to the tablescape.
Adding Special Touches
Personalized name cards or holiday printables can make a table setting special. I chose to keep this red white and blue summer table more casual, but you can find a lot of ideas for fun 4th of July printables on Pinterest.
Don’t Forget The Food
And now, for the most important part of styling a summer table…the food! And nothing says summer like s’mores! These s’mores cookie bars are a quick (and tasty!) addition to the table.
Paired with some seasonal fruit and some mini brown bites, this makes for the perfect summer dessert table.
Incorporating the food styling into the tablescape is not only practical, but it sets a welcoming and laid back mood for your guests. And really, what’s the 4th of July without a table full of delicious food?!?
I hope this helps to inspire you to create your own festive red, white, and blue summer table. I’ve linked some of my favorite tablescape basics below so you can easily recreate the look.
